Indigo on cotton and linen fabric

A textile painted collage tracing the production colonial history of Indigo in India and East India company. The images are derived from the archival and library research of Indigo trade in London. The work was created in the studios built on the site of former propeller factory that manufactured propellers for the ships, the ones for East India company and near the docks where the East India company would initially store the indigo along with other commodities from South Asia.
